VEGANS ARE UNMANLY!

On this channel, I routinely smash myths and misconceptions with regards to veganism, fitness, and other topics. And I do so with straight-up fucking science!

But, there is one that KEEPS rearing its ugly head about as often as the soy myth. It is ubiquitous.

One that, inevitably, every vegan man has heard or will hear at some point in time.

One that a recent comment reminded me to address… that choosing not to eat meat is ‘effeminate’.

Now, I am not going to try and psychoanalyze the kind of person who would make such an absurd statement. Rather, I am just going to destroy their statement with science!

The latter route is FAR more satisfying than inevitably sinking into a vacuous, pleb-tier, name-calling match.

And, luckily, all this intellectual ass-kicking will require is reviewing the results from one, HUGE study.

Without further ado, allow me to direct your attention to data from the EPIC study to achieve my goal.

For the unaware… the EPIC study is one of the largest cohort studies in the world. Involving 521,000 participants recruited from across 10 European countries, with a duration of nearly 15 years.

According to the EPIC study, after controlling for factors such as age, BMI, smoking status, amount of exercise, time of day, time since last meal, and time between blood testing, it was found that vegans have about 7% GREATER total testosterone and 5% GREATER free testosterone than do meat eaters. And this is DESPITE vegans also having about 6% higher SHBG levels than meat eaters.

Now, granted, 5-7% isn’t a HUGE gap. And I am not going to sit here and imply that it is. That would be dishonest.

For example, a 7% difference could mean testosterone levels of 727 ng/dL for your average vegan male versus 679 ng/dL for your average male meat-eater.

So, don’t think that I’m implying meat-eaters are inherently “feminine” with this video either.

But, to claim that meat consumption makes you inherently “manly”, or that by avoiding meat you are a inherently “feminine” is also factually-incorrect.

Testosterone is, after all, the MALE hormone you fucking dolts! And vegans technically have a BIT more of it on average.

Now, keep in mind, the key words there are “on average”… after controlling for diet and lifestyle habits.

In other words, the healthiest vegans versus the healthiest meat-eaters.

Simply going vegan isn’t going to inherently improve your testosterone levels if you are living an otherwise shitty lifestyle.

For example… drinking alcohol, taking certain drugs, eating too little fat, eating too much processed sugar, not getting enough sleep, consistently stressing out, etc.

And there ARE a LOT of unhealthy vegans!

Some of which have or had a big, relatively die-hard following, that followed their heinous nutrition advice to a T.

But, the research demonstrates that if you are SMART about health, diet and exercise… AS A VEGAN you are likely to have a bit higher testosterone than a meat-eater who is similarly conscientious.

So, I hope we can finally put this flawed perception about vegans to rest.

But that’s likely just a pipe dream, given the unrelenting level of ‘stupid’ that I experience from meat-eaters on a near-daily basis online.

Even in the face of cold, hard facts, TOO many people cling to archaic misinformation, misconceptions, and over-generalizations.

Just one look at the comments under my Paul Joseph Watson “soy boy” response videos will demonstrate that point. It’s almost enough to make you lose faith in humanity.
